TMD & Orofacial Pain Treatment

Diagnosis and treatment for jaw, facial, and head pain.

When someone experiences an occlusion problem or tissue damage to the head, neck and face, it is important to have an evaluation by a trained and qualified Orofacial Pain clinician. Our team will consider your medical history, study your clinical findings, and review your previous dental treatments and experiences with pain to develop a treatment plan.

We provide non-surgical, diagnostically-driven dental therapy for the treatment of TMD and muscle pain, including headaches, jaw joint, and facial pain.

Our office conducts a thorough evaluation of the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), head, neck and facial region, using x-rays and, occasionally, additional imaging, to clearly identify the issue and plan an effective course of treatment.

Because problems associated with the jaw joints can be progressive, accurate and immediate diagnosis and treatment are crucial.

Appliance Therapy

Custom-made oral appliances for jaw stabilization and pain relief.

A custom-made appliance is often prescribed for joint and muscle stabilization. Once pain is controlled, the jaw joint is stabilized and the bite is balanced so that teeth, muscles, and joints work together to minimize strain or pain.

Once your pain is managed, the appliance helps balance your bite so that teeth, muscles, and joints work together comfortably. Appliances can also protect against the effects of clenching and grinding, which are common contributors to jaw pain and headaches.

Your dentist will determine the right type of appliance for your condition and monitor your progress throughout treatment, making adjustments as needed to keep you comfortable and on track.

On-site Laboratory

Custom oral appliances designed and manufactured in-house.

We proudly craft custom oral appliances right here at our TMD laboratory. From start to finish, our dentists and lab technicians work together to oversee every detail of your appliance to support your treatment plan and well-being.

Manufacturing in-house means greater control over quality, a more precise fit, and faster turnaround for both new and replacement appliances.

Sleep Apnea Appliances

Custom oral appliances to manage sleep-disordered breathing.

Sleep apnea and other sleep-disordered breathing issues can affect your overall health and well-being. As an alternative or complement to other treatments, a custom oral appliance can help keep your airway open during sleep, reducing symptoms and improving sleep quality.

If you snore, wake up frequently, or have been told you may have sleep apnea, book your appointment to discuss whether an oral appliance is right for you.

Injection Therapy

Targeted treatments to relieve muscle tension and pain.

For some patients, injection-based treatments can provide effective relief from muscle tension, pain, and related symptoms. Options may include Botox injections, trigger point therapy, and nerve blocks, used alone or alongside other therapies as part of your overall treatment plan.

Our clinicians will determine whether injection therapy is appropriate for your condition and how it fits within your care.
