About TMD Therapeutics
TMD Therapeutics is Atlantic Canada's only clinic dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD), muscle pain, headaches, jaw joint pain, and facial pain. We offer non-surgical, diagnostically-driven care and proudly serve patients from across the Maritimes.
Our Approach
We believe effective treatment starts with understanding the full picture. Rather than simply treating symptoms, we look at how muscle tension, joint mechanics, posture, sleep, and daily habits contribute to your pain.
Every treatment plan is personalized and may include oral appliances, physical therapy, targeted medications, and practical strategies to reduce strain and restore function. Our approach is conservative, evidence-based, and focused on long-term relief — without surgery.

We specialize exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD), orofacial pain, headaches, jaw joint pain, and facial pain. Our services include custom oral appliance therapy (crafted in our on-site laboratory), Botox® injections for pain management, nerve blocks and other targeted injections, pharmacotherapy, and registered massage therapy. All care is non-surgical, evidence-based, and tailored to each patient's individual needs.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation of your jaw joints, head, neck, and facial region. We'll review your medical and dental history, discuss your symptoms in detail, and may take X-rays or recommend imaging. From there, we'll work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Do we accept dental insurance?

Please note that our doctors are dentists, and our services fall under dental coverage. We do not direct bill to private dental insurance companies; however, we are happy to provide you with the necessary dental codes or a predetermination letter so you can check your coverage with your insurance provider prior to your initial appointment. We will also provide you with a claim form to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that we do not accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

How can you contact us?
No — you do not need a referral to be seen at our clinic. While many patients come to us through their dentist, physician, or another healthcare provider, you are welcome to self-refer. Simply contact our office and our administrative team will guide you through the next steps.
